How do I make a payment online?
The
online payment system will ask you to identify yourself first and then will ask
what you would like to pay for. For further guidance when using the online
payment system please click the 'help' button. No payments will be taken until
you are asked to confirm payment.

Can I make a payment by another method?

Can I make a payment for less than the invoice amount?
Yes,
but you should ensure that your payments clear in time to meet the due dates of
your invoice.

When will the payment be taken from my card?
The
payment will be processed immediately, but the payment may not show as taken
from your card straight away. Please check with your card issuer to find out how
long this will take.

How do I know if a payment is successful?
You
will receive a printable confirmation receipt when the payment has been
processed successfully. Please keep this for your records.

When do I receive confirmation that the payment has been taken?
You
will receive a printable confirmation receipt once your payment has been
confirmed as successful.

Can I make a payment on behalf of someone else?
You
can make a payment on behalf of someone else. For guidance on how to do this
please follow the instructions online.

Can I pay with someone else's card?
If
you intend to pay using a card which isn't yours the correct cardholder must be
present and they must key in their own details.

My payment was declined but I want to make a payment by another method, what should I do?
Please

payments can be taken this way.

Can I amend my payment once it's been taken?
You
are not able to amend a payment once you have clicked 'confirm payment' but you
can 'cancel' up to this point. If you have overpaid an invoice you should
contact us
by telephone for further guidance.

for further guidance and to discuss if your account has been overpaid.

What do I need the confirmation receipt for?
This
is your official proof of payment. It may be necessary to produce this to your
employer/sponsor/parent/guardian as proof of payment or we may ask you to
present it to us if you have an enquiry.

I am taking out a maximum student loan for my fees do I still need to arrange to pay?
If
you have applied for a Student Tuition Fees Loan for full funding and had
confirmation that your loan has been approved you do not need to make any
payment to us as the Student Loan Company will pay your fees directly to the
University. However, if for any reason the SLC do not pay your fees, you will
become liable and will therefore receive an invoice.

What library fines and charges can I pay for online?
You can pay library fines for overdue or late renewed items, replacement charges for lost items or any other library charges.

Can I make a payment for part of a fine?
If you have multiple fines, you can select which individual fines to pay but you cannot pay a portion of an individual fine, all of the fine must be paid.

Can I transfer my printing balance to pay for library fines?
No, this is not possible.

I have paid for a book I lost but I found it - can I have a refund?
Once paid, no monies are refundable.

What about fines for items I have not returned or renewed yet?
Fines are not charged, but are still accumulated, until items are returned, so you cannot pay fines for overdue items that you have not yet returned.

Is there a minimum payment amount?
There is no minimum payment amount.

Can Associate Members pay fines online?
Only students and staff can pay fines online. Associate Members can pay fines at the Hallam Help points in the libraries by cash or card.
